How could people survive another great depression?

I think that the previous post is good advice – we need to become more resourceful and stop spending money. What I’m worried about is the difference between the type of crime and selfishness that exists in our society now. The nostalgic look of people pulling together before seems to be a very remote possibility nowadays. These days, if we grown our own stuff, it’ll probably be stolen. People seem to be ready to use knives and guns so, I fear the country is going to become very dangerous in the circumstance of extreme poverty. The best line of work is going to go back to essential services – bakers, butchers, greengrocers, health, education etc. People will not afford to run cars so local shops will see increased business. I’m thinking about boot sales! It’s a very worrying time and having people saying that the current ‘government’ is better somehow is the most worrying of all.
