How could Jesus be the Son of God and the Son of Mary and Joseph?

According to Christian belief, Jesus was the Son of God (in the theological sense), but the son of Mary (in the human sense). Joseph was the legal father of Jesus. The idea of a “theological son” is non-scientific.
