The Jimmy Ryce Act calls for inmates with sex offense histories to be reviewed by Florida state agencies and psychologists to determine their level of risk for re-offense. If the offender’s risk is determined to be high, they could face long-term civil proceedings and commitment to a secure facility for treatment after they complete their prison sentence.
