Pat McGrath Avery has been writing forever and ever – or at least it seems that way. She began writing fiction in creative writing classes in high school and college. As a high school teacher, she wrote a musical play that was performed by her students – to rave reviews by the parents, although she suspects that was for their darlings rather than her talent. For nearly 20 years she has been writing business plans, marketing plans, international executive letters and resumes on a contract basis. In 1997, she ran a series of poetry contests, discovered a childrens verse that had book screaming at her every time she read it. So she started her own publishing company. Since then, she has published a number of books by other authors and written a few of her own.
