How could autonomous robots be used to track endangered species?

0

This is difficult robot could be used to count numbers eg seabirds or with cam for wildlife photography. Autonomous makes it much more difficult as it would need specific software to control and allow the robot to control itself. The robot also needs fuel and if species numbers are low the robot would need to locate and track the species. Perhaps homing device linked to autonomous robot would be possible. Technology is probably not yet ready for this task.
