How competitive are the GO and Fritz Scholarships?
The GO! and Fritz scholarships are competitive, and submission of an essay is not a guarantee of an award. Although the scholarships are competitive, there are several things you can do to strengthen your application. Tips for creating a strong application • Make your essay as personal as possible. Although it is useful to include information about the place where you plan to study abroad, your essay should focus on you – your challenges and achievements, your academic ambitions, and your goals for study abroad. • Get help with your essay. There are several locations on campus where you can get assistance writing and editing your application essay. Advisers and tutors are available through the Instructional Center the Gateway Center, and the Writing and Research Center in Odegaard Library. The Global Opportunities Advisers are also available to provide essay feedback.
