How common is male to male rape in UK Prisons?
Not very common in UK jails. I’ve never been to jail, and never intend to go, but in speaking to people who have been to jail rapists tend to get beaten up or even burned with boiling water in some cases, stabbed etc. They’re regarded as low as paedophiles and grasses. As for the U.S, its very common and they actually tell inmates going in, who are vulnerable to it (young, white males who are small are most likely to get raped), how to deal with it when it occurs. Violence in British prisons, sexual or otherwise, tends to happen to people who upset others, a lot of people in prison have nothing to lose, they could be serving 20 years or life and only have their reputation as a tough guy left in the world. If you’re going to jail, don’t know if you are but judging by the question I’d guess you or somebody you know is, be assertive (i.e. take no s***) but not aggressive.
