How common is it to have infertility problems?
Infertility is a condition that affects approximately one out of every six couples. According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, infertility affects about 6.1 million people in the U.S., equivalent to ten percent of the reproductive age population. Male infertility factors contribute to approximately 50% of all infertility cases, and male infertility alone accounts for approximately one-third of all infertility cases. I am trying to conceive but am having difficulty. What causes infertility? It is not uncommon to have trouble becoming pregnant or to experience infertility. Female infertility accounts for one third of infertility cases, male infertility for another third, combined male and female infertility for another 15%, and the remainder of cases are “unexplained”.
