How common is it for people to buy imitation jewelry just for travel purposes?
We have a lot of customers who buy imitation jewelry specifically for vacationing and traveling. We had one customer who lost over $50k worth of diamond jewelry stolen on a vacation. The jewelry was not insured and they didn’t have the money to replace it. The husband and wife were devastated because even if there was insurance coverage for replacement, the jewelry pieces had irreplaceable sentimental value because it had been given to her over the years from family and friends.
