How common are white white-tailed deer?

0

There is a sub-race of white tailed deer which in white in colour (not albino – which is complete lack of pigmentation), but rather hypomelanistic – sort of the opposite of the phenomenon that creates black panthers. How common white white-tails are depends on where you are, and what the frequency amongst your local populations are. The white white-tails are most common in the eastern USA, with the largest population actually occurring on the Seneca Army Base in New York. I’m not that familiar with the geography of the eastern US, but you’re certainly closer to that region than say, I am.
