How common are false positives?
I’ve had false positives. Back when I was a teenager I got ill and the doctors refused to test me for anything until I had done a pregnancy test for them. I tried explaining that it was physically impossible as I’d never had sex but I went ahead with the test so they would take me seriously. They had to re-do it as it came back positive. It must have come back positive a second time as they later told me that it was the blood tests they eventually agreed to do that proved I wasn’t pregnant. False positives are rare so I would presume you’re pregnant but would get the doctor to do a blood test for you as well to be sure. Congratulations.
