How common are alergic reactions with getting tattoos?
That’s like asking if being allergic to dog fur means you may be allergic to paint fumes. They’re completely unrelated problems. Being allergic to various metals has no relation on whether or not you’ll be allergic to tattoo ink. But, for the record, allergic reaction to tattoo ink is very uncommon. And on the rare occassion that it does occur, it’s usually with red ink. So if you’re really that worried about it, just avoid red ink. If you do have a reaction, you could try using anti-hystamine creams. That may calm the reaction and put it into remission (tattoo ink reactions have a pattern of coming and going). But if the reaction is severe, you will need to have the ink removed by laser. Still, I think you’re worrying too much. Tons of people are allergic to metals, but tattoo ink allergy is so rare that you’re more likely to be struck by lightening on the way to the tattoo shop.
