How comes there are no *1 male 2 female* vga splitter?

You can probably find some scam operation to sell you such a splitter. I’ve seen them in the past. Problem is, while audio in consumer applications is pretty forgiving, video is not. Video is VERY dependent upon the load at the end (monitor). With a splitter, you sending only half the power to each monitor, so the video is only half bright, and looks quite washed out. For your purposes, though, VGA is only an ouput, never an input (except to the monitor). So if you’re watching your xbox on your monitor, you can’t send anything to your computer’s VGA connector. Xbox does have composite or s-video, as well as audio output connections, so you can just send those to your capture device. In other words, the converter is already built into the xbox.
