How come the edit or delete option disappears after 1 day that an article has been submitted?

After 1 day, it is presumed that you have had enough time to make all necessary changes to the article. If you discover an error or typo after the 1 day period, use the Report button at the bottom of the article to point it out to a News Moderator to correct.
