How come racism is a major theme throughout the book?

0

It is a major theme threw this book because in his time racism was still around so he wrote about his problems and what he had went through as a colored person in those times. Most of his poems talks about how life was like in Harlem. During Harlem, their was a lot of racism, so Langston Hughes decided to talk about how Harlem was like back then in his poems. Raicism is a major thing in the book because it talks about his time period of when colored people were segregated, the white and blacks. So his poems mostly emphasize his emotions through his everyday life.
