How come on the Profile form my mother had to put her home equity, but on the FAFSA it wasn asked?
The equity on a home is not considered for the purposes of determining eligibility for federal student aid, therefore the question is not asked on the federal form. Institutions however, use the CSS Profile to award their own institutional funding and can choose to request his information before making such awards.
