Mini Biography On November 12, 1929, Grace Patricia Kelly was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to wealthy parents. Her girlhood was uneventful for the most part, but one of the things she desired was to become an actress which she had decided on at an early age. After her high school graduation in 1947, Grace struck out on her own, heading to New York’s bright lights to try her luck there. Grace worked some as a model and made her debut on Broadway in 1949. Dublin District Court heard the teacher had advertised his classes on a supermarket noticeboard and the girl had been taking weekly lessons for nearly two years before the alleged assault. Cross-examined by the defendant’s barrister, the alleged victim said the accused continued the assault as they moved on to another song, ‘The Summer of ’69’. She was sitting on his couch playing the guitar throughout. Judge Aeneas McCarthy rejected defence arguments that there were too many inconsistencies in the prosecution case for it to proceed. He said the accused had a case to answer and adjourned it for the hearing of evidence for the defence.
