How come Michael Jordan retired so many times?
The first time he retired, I think Jordan always had an interest and passion for baseball and wanted to try that sport. He had rings and even then had nothing really left to prove. The death of his father and his gambling addiction impacted him as well. The second time, the Bulls were breaking up and the NBA was in danger of a lockout. When he came back to the Wizards, I think he missed the game, missed the competition, and believed he could still play. He could, too, but it was obviously a step or two below his days with the Bulls.
