How come it is so expensive compared to regular rope light?
The main cost is the LED. Now that they are signifcantly brighter and available in colors we have never had before, they are expensive to produce. In addition, there is a need to match the LEDs within a ropelight run to give a uniform look and color. The production cost of the LED and the materials that make up the LED are the primary cost factor. The value is in the low current and long life.
