How come I am unable to PING through MECnets network?
Because of the numerous systems that are infected with the W32.Welchia.Worm or the W32.Nachi.Worm, our backbone was being flooded by ICMP echo requests (PING) coming from and to our customer networks. In order to alleviate most of the slow down, we are blocking all ICMP echo-requests (PING) leaving or entering our backbone. This block will remain in affect until further notice.
