How come black pride marches are considered “progressive”, but a white pride march would be considered “racist”?
As long as your “white pride parade” didn’t encourage racism or thoughts of being superior and was simply about the culture you have. But as I’m sure you know, anything saying white pride is going to be “racist”, because White Pride is typically said by those who are racist and narrow-minded. So if you do have a parade like that, and you aren’t racist, dont be shocked if you see a bunch of racist walking around. Besides, there are “white pride” parade…more like nationality parades though (like a Scottish festival, German festival). What would make it “racist” is the whole “White Pride”. But a Celtic, Scottish, German, italian festival would not be…and would not exclude any race.
Black people have a long history of being degraded and demoralized by others, mostly whites. So when you see a Black Pride Parade, the understandable subtext is “I am not ashamed of my race”. But a White Pride Parade does not exist in that context. Whites have never, in our culture, been systematically humiliated as a “race”.
