How come a Black person was seen as available as slaves in history, and discriminated ever since?
It’s a good question. Let’s go back to the history of the world. Black slavery was mainly an economic opportunity. It’s also a guilt that is shared with other cultures besides Europeans. In those days, West Africa was undergoing many tribal wars. Those that were captured by their enemies were sold to the Arabs for slavery. The Arabs had commerce with the European powers of those days and sold their slaves to those captains of the ships that would take them to the New World, where they would be sold again to plantation owners. Since blacks were treated as property, they would be considered sub-class, which no doubt promoted racist ideas. These ideas would continue to this very day. Truly a raw deal that was dealt to those Africans and their descendants. In other periods of time in history, there were other slaves as well. The Romans had slaves, The Egyptians had slaves.
