How close is Machu Picchu to Cuzco?
Machu Picchu is a 3 hour train ride from Cuzco. You can take the train from Cuzco to Aguascalientes, the little town at the foot of Macchu Pichu, or you can take a bus to Ollantaytambo and catch the train there to Aguascalientes. There are myriad tourist agencies, with a variety of packages. The safest and more organized agencies will always charge more, but the advantage is just that: safety and better organization.
