How close has the sun gotten to another star?

0

Just so you know: Our Solar System is the ONLY Solar System in the entire universe. Only our’s has the parent star named Sol. Anything else is in general called a planetary system, or named specifically after its parent star, such as “55 Cancri System” (real example) or “Dagobah System” (fiction example). Astronomers haven’t measured our galaxy’s stars long enough to know for sure whether Proxima Centauri or Barnard’s star has approached the Sun closest. Also, our galaxy nearly rotates as if it were a rigid body (but not exactly true). Computer modeling only shows that Our Solar System formed with nearly circular orbits. All other planetary systems form based on what rotation pattern their formation nebula took, which doesn’t necessarily imply it needs to be circular or eccentric.
