How close are outdoor recreational activities like snorkeling, tennis, etc.?
Some of Maui’s finest snorkeling is at Black Rock, just a short walk north along the beach (about 5 minutes from the hotel). Many courts are available throughout the Kaanapali Resort. The Sheraton Maui is just next-door to Kaanapali Beach Hotel with 3 courts for day and night play. Championship golf is right across the street from the hotel, with two courses available for play. The golf pro shop is 5 minutes away by car and the complimentary resort shuttle also makes a stop there as it circles the resort throughout the day.
