How Christianity was restored in Russia and Ukraine after 70 years of communism ?
Christianity never died in Ukraine during the 70 years of communism. In 1934 communist Russia began the demolition of St Michael’s Cathedral in Kiev Ukraine, eventually using dynamite to demolish the church. Soon after the 1991 fall of the USSR, the city of Kiev authorized the rebuilding of this magnificent church with its golden domes. The newly rebuilt St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral was officially opened on May 30, 1999. To this day it remains not only a tourist attraction but a daily destination for many of the faithful in Kiev.
