• Hormones Interleukin 12 and TNF alpha are belonging to the body’s immune system protect it from disease causing invaders. • But in people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, these hormones are present in excess. • The research study found that during the third trimester of pregnancy, symptoms of this disorder in some affected pregnant women disappear, only to reappear after the delivery. • Normal pregnant women were also found to be at the risk of developing any one of these disorders within a year of child birth. • 18 healthy and normal pregnant women were part of the study and their Interleukin 12 and TNF alpha levels were measured during the third trimester and after child birth. • It was found that, during the third trimester of pregnancy, IL-12 level was three times lower than it was after the child birth. • Similarly, there was a drop of 40 percent in TNF alpha levels during the third trimester when compared to its levels after delivery. • Cortisol, nore
