Unfortunately in the UK networks are not governed by any law that says they have to unlock our handsets, even after a contract is finished. Apple’s iPhone and Blackberry’s Storm are great examples of this. Both are locked to networks and the networks will not unlock them. Most networks will however unlock a contract phone after it’s finished and a PAYG handset after so many months. If they won’t do this then you are going to have to go down the avenue of the local networks high street shop or local market. Both should do it for between £10-£20.
