How can you tell the difference between all white turtle doves?
The only way to tell is to wait till they are sexually mature. Then the male will blow up his crop and sing and dance. You will also find them in nest and in corners wooing available hens. Also if you will gently hold the bird in your hands you can run your finger along the birds breast bone to the very end in the rear. Then just a little beyond that is the vent bones. Now this isn’t as noticeable in young hens as it is older hens that have already laid. A pair of Ringneck Doves will breed for many years. I think they will be better breeders if you keep them separated until young hens are nearly 24 months old. They will last longer than hens that were bred as soon as they wanted. Some will breed as soon as 3 months old if allowed. They need the extra time to grow and mature. I hope this helps. It is a experienc
