How can you tell if a piece of art work is from the Baroque period or another period?
There are some characteristics of Baroque art that do make them stand out from other styles. First of all, almost all Baroque art has Christian themes to it. Also, there is a dramatic use a shadows in the paintings/ sculpture. Shadows alot of the times dominate most of the painting. The subjects depicted are usually very emotional and awe-inspireing. The subjects are also very realisticly depicted.
