How can you monitor which fruit and vegetables are in season?

either go to local greengrocers (if like me you are in London, go to borough market) when stuff is in season and British, they are really proud of it and the lables for the price will read something like “best British strawberries” or whatever else is in season. The rest is all common sense: like mangos do not grow in this country, have you ever seen a banana tree in the UK and berries grow in summer, they have thin skins as they dont need to be protected from the elements in the same way that apples and pears do, which respectivly grow best in the autumn months. But regardless of all this, many stores will freeze thier fruit and veg for months on end, so even if it is out of season, you can still eat it as its been kept on ice for when stocks run low.
