without damaging the car is the key ….Any petroleum distillate product will remove the glue… along with the protective finish, (designed to protect the paint job). The vegetable oil answer is a good trick, however, without knowing how much area needs to be DE-glued… you maybe in for more work than you think… What I’m trying to say is, if you value the paint job .. go to your local parts store and ask for some good advice.. better yet call an auto body shop ..You definitely want to use products designed to clean and protect the cars’ finish… If it’s a 96′ Escort,.. I’d use 60’grit then spray paint “OUCH” OVER IT …lol…… Good Luck…..
