I will guess that you are wanting to use a gaming device with internet connection and thus the need for the router without the PC. You can not install the router without the use of a PC of some kind. To set the router up, with the WAN (connects between the router and the modem), the LAN ( connects computers and other devices to the router and each other, as well as the wireless networks if it has one; will all require you to access the control panel for the router, which is done through a PC of some kind. It can be a laptop, or a desktop, but you have to have one or the other. Once the router and networks are properly set up, you do not need to have the PC installed to have the system work. But you have to have it to set the system up. Perhaps you can borrow a laptop from a friend, and use it to set up the system.
