How can you apply bitter apple to the plastic part of a dog collar and make it stay?
One thing you could do would be to try using stick deodorant on the plastic clip – it’s astringent and bitter and can deter chewing, and it often stays around on smooth non-porous surfaces for longer than Bitter Apple. Another thing would be to try modifying the collar a little. You could get a strip of cloth and stitch it to one side of the clip, and then maybe stitch on a Velcro fastener to the other side of the clip (and the cloth). This way you would end up with a cloth sleeve that would cover the fastened clip, and when you wanted to remove the collar you would simply unstick the Velcro, peel back the sleeve and undo the clip. This cloth sleeve could be soaked in Bitter Apple, and that might work.
