How can we use Maslows theory in designing incentive system for an organization?
I just completed a research paper on motivation for an Organizational Behaviour class. Here is an excerpt from part of my paper: “Maslow’s theory is widely recognized in today’s business world, especially with managers. It is so acceptable because it is easy to understand, and it makes sense. Then again, there is little research to validate the theory. Abraham Maslow never did provide tangible evidence that supported his theory, and many studies have been completed that found little or no support for the prediction that need structures are organized along the dimensions proposed by Maslow – that unsatisfied needs motivate, or that satisfied needs bring people to a new level.” I also interviewed three managers from different industries. All three agreed on one thing: they do not use one specific theory or idea to motivate employees, but rather several. I found some interesting information on http://www.businessballs.com/ Good lu
