How can we replace the services provided by the lower Snake River dams when they are removed?
Barge transportation alternatives are feasible and affordable. The removal of the lower Snake dams will reduce the river barge corridor by 140 miles. Crops and other products would then have to be railed and/or trucked to Pasco, WA where they would be loaded onto barges, or continue to Portland by rail.
