How can we prevent oil spills ?
There was a move to ‘double-hull’ ships transporting oil. I don’t know if they managed to complete the task but that is one way of preventing them. Abstinence is always the best way. We stop using oil and they will stop shipping it. Unfortunately we seem to be addicted to the stuff. Using only locally produced oil from land based wells is another way to stop the spills. Ridding ourselves of those who insist on causing leaks to our oil pipelines is also another. This is a problem in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
