How can we most effectively demonstrate and live the UNM values?
In order for the OPBA to be effective, excellence and integrity must serve as the foundation for all that we do. The OPBA is the main contact to numerous state government departments regarding fiscal matters. Demonstrating high levels of excellence and integrity is essential to maintaining the confidence that state government officials have in UNM’s financial data. UNM, and specifically the OPBA, are often viewed as leaders among the state’s higher education institutions in terms of fiscal responsibility, budgeting and reporting practices. Likewise, the OPBA further exhibits UNM’s values in its daily efforts on campus. From relationships built with campus departments to the professional working relationships of the staff in our office, the OPBA effectively “lives” UNM’s values. Outreach efforts with campus departments have strengthened fiscal oversight while still affording departments the freedom to align their resources independently to achieve their own strategic goals.
