This was selected as Best Answer Sohaib, Whilst Dave Maskin’s response is right, it’s also rather simplistic because of the complex interplay between politics, commercial interests and societal factors. Talk to organisations and they’ll probably recognise and accept the basic truth of what Dave says, but in these days of economic downturn, they would probably find it very hard to make contributions towards education as it’s an indirect (if altruistic) benefit for them (and certainly long term). Moving to a political viewpoint, I think there may be more mileage because governments will more readily accept the need for good education right across all levels of society. However politicians are short term thinkers due to their tenure: they will be more interested in vote winning policy than long term improvements to society. It’s quite hard to persuade voting tax payers that raising taxes for the benefit of a future generation is a “good thing”. However I don’t think it’s all doom and gloo
