How can we “Fix” Department stores?
I find it sadly ironic that two notorious china-based spammer.scammers answered your question. Department stores don’t need fixing. What needs fixing is the non-stop whining “where can I get cute clothes that are really cheap? I mean really really cheap? I have only 10$ for a pair of jeans?” and the sister question, “I want a new dress but I don’t want to spend more the 30$” and the companion of the two “I want a chanel/LV bag and a Hollister shirt and abercrombie jeans but they need to be cheap I can’t afford to pay the real price for what i want so where do i find these for cheap?” People must really prefer cheap crap than high quality domestically made goods. Fix consumer expectations and then stores will find people more willing to spend good money on good quality products. As long as people demand cheap crap, they will continue to offer cheap crap. And the “it’s the economy and we don’t have jobs” excuse sets consumers into a vicious circle. They aren’t willing to pay for domestic
