How can Watermaster sell the water to an outside party?
Watermaster elected to exercise its rights under a Purchase and Sale Agreement that was approved by the Court in December 2007. The Purchase and Sale Agreement extended Watermaster the option to acquire up to 40,000 acre-feet of water presently held in storage for one of two purposes: (1) desalter replenishment; and (2) a storage and recovery program. Watermaster has elected to acquire the water held in storage for use in connection with a Storage and Recovery Agreement. As a condition of making the water available, the Overlying Non-Agricultural Pool was required to dedicate 4,000 acre-feet to desalter replenishment.
