How can visible scarring be minimized?
The only visible scarring should be from the incision that was used to place the implant under the skin. This implant does not need to be placed immediately next to the implant and can often be located in a discrete location away from the implant itself. For example, doctors sometimes insert breast implants via an incision in the navel or the armpit. Forehead implants may be placed using an incision just inside the hairline. Other than incision placement, incisions should be made with the grain of the skin, and should be treated gently during healing.
