How can virginiamycin be used in future?
Treatment of necrotic enteritis in chickens is limited to a maximum of 21 days. A second course of treatment is not allowed. Cattle and sheep at risk of lactic acidosis when fed high-grain diets can be treated with virginiamycin for a maximum of 28 days. One course of treatment is allowable in a 12-month period. As a further restriction, the use of virginiamycin will not be allowed in other species of animals not listed on product labels.
