How can Travigo offer such low air fares?
Travigo offers only last minute consolidator flights. Consolidators are companies that negotiate with airlines to buy up seats that would otherwise not be sold. You can think of them as a type of wholesaler that purchase empty seats between two weeks and a few days in advance of the flight date. They then sell those seats at substantially lower prices compared to the airline’s own booking system. This enables the airlines to encourage passengers to book early by charging higher prices for the last minute fares booked directly with them, and still sell any unused last minute seats via consolidators.
