How can townsite salinity be managed?
Many treatments such as using water wisely, water recycling, revegetation in and around the townsite, protecting remnant vegetation, groundwater pumping, improvements to surface water management and shallow drainage are being used by a number of towns across the agricultural region to beat salinity. Not all of these treatments are suitable for every town, however more than one treatment is usually required for effective salinity control.
