How can the Vietnamese Government address challenges facing traffic conditions?
The Government must base their assessment on both the current traffic situation and future demands. This must be done looking both at individual cities and cross-country travel. Based on that assessment, planners must take a holistic approach including infrastructure, mass transit and traffic control and management systems. We can support these tasks in different ways thanks to our global experience. What do you think about the role of traffic technology solutions in the country, and how will it help improve traffic conditions? As mentioned in the first question, investment is currently focused on concrete infrastructure projects, while the next steps involve investment into smart control systems (e.g. traffic management, enforcement and tolling), which need to be implemented so that authorities can better manage the traffic situation.
