How can the money been spent in Ottawa?
In Ottawa, the funds that are collected through the Cash-in-lieu of Parking policy are transferred into a Parking Reserve Fund. By-law 2004-321, as amended by By-law 2005-555, provides that in the City, the funds in the “Parking Cash-in-lieu fund”, which is established to develop parking where the most need occurs in the city, “shall be used for the acquisition, establishment, laying out or improvement of additional parking lots or facilities and other parking related facilities”.
