How can the miracles in the Bible be true?
Christians believe in miracles because they believe in a God who acts. He is not a static or unconscious power. He has established laws of nature, and He can intervene in those laws if He chooses. He reserves the right to suspend those laws if He chooses to do so. Miracles are exactly that, events beyond natural understanding. They demand a supernatural explanation. All four gospels describe miracles in the ministry of Jesus. He exercised control over every aspect of life. The main lesson is that miracles can confirm faith but not create it. And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith (Matthew 13:58).
