How can the law be used as a tool for social engineneering?
Its actually already in use. For example, marriage according to the law can only be between and man and a woman. Because this has been the law and the norm for so long, gay marriage is perceived as unacceptable by the law and society. This is because marriage is a social institution whose core idea is the spiritual union between man, woman and their ability to procreate. Because a gay couple can not procreate, they do not follow the social institution and is therefore rejected by society. However what gay couples want are the rights that a married couple attain, not the right to procreate. After all, they are going to share their lives together just like a married couple. Why can’t they have the tax breaks too? Or have their marriage recognized by the law? Another example could be the millions of dollars that are going into promoting healthier living against obesity.
