How can the interoperability of electronic toll systems be ensured?
The European interoperability of electronic toll systems is already phased in by means of directive 2004/52/EC, which sets up a “European electronic toll service.” The EC is preparing the necessary detailed technical specifications so that full interoperability will be achieved by 2012 for systems fitted in lorries.
